Super Bowl 54 Betting Strategies

Basically, this is a cooperative effort between the two teams to either go ‘Over’ or ‘Under’ the posted total. VegasInsider.com handicapper Matt Blunt has provided his early analysis on other popular wagers for Super Bowl 54 between the Chiefs and 49ers.

Total (Over/Under)

With the point-spread being so short, some bettors could be undecided on the Chiefs and 49ers. The next best option is playing the total or ‘over/under’ for Super Bowl 54. If you’re unfamiliar with this wager, it’s easy to understand. Basically, your wager is determined by the combined points between the two teams to either go ‘Over’ or ‘Under’ the posted total.

Blunt not only provides his Best Bets on the ‘over/under’ for the Super Bowl, he digs deep into his database and breaks down the historical total numbers for the Super Bowl.

Plus, he touches on numbers for both the first-quarter and first-half wagers. Novice bettors might not want to jump into the deep end of these betting markets so quickly, but his analysis could have you taking the plunge.

Parlay

The majority of bettors love to make a large score and one of the easiest ways to multiply your profits is through a wager called a parlay. The popular sports betting wager is easy to understand and it’s a bet that contains more than multiple bets. In order to win the wager, you need to hit all of the bets to cash the winning ticket.

For the Super Bowl, the most common parlay wager will be a two-team parlay and the return is quite generous at 13/5 odds (Bet $100 to win $260). For this year’s matchup, bettors can wager on one of four different parlay wagers.

Chiefs-Over, Chiefs-Under
49ers-Over, 49ers-Under

Blunt provides all the analysis on what you should do for the big game between San Francisco and Kansas City.

Teaser

Similar to a parlay wager, the Teaser is a wager that consists of at least two outcomes and you must win and at least push on both of the outcomes to turn the profit. You’re not receiving the generous return as the parlay wager but you do get a major advantage over the sportsbooks – and that bonus allows you to move the point-spread or total on the matchup.

For a two-team teaser on the Super Bowl, most sportsbooks offer 6 or 7-point teasers. For this year’s matchup, teasers would look like this based on the latest line for Kansas City -1 and a ‘over/under’ of 54.

Kansas City +6, Over 47
Kansas City +6, Under 64
San Francisco +8, Over 47
San Francisco +8, Under 64

Once again, Blunt breaks down all of the teaser outcomes for the past Super Bowls plus he provides the numbers on both the Chiefs and 49ers for their first 18 games.
