I do like the 20 dollar trick, you dont really know if it works, but I haven't had a bad room in any of my occasions where i used it. But it will also depend on availability in the hotel and the dates you travel. I did a cabana for 2 people last year at the MGM Grand at the lazy river, I really enjoyed this. In my opinion well worth the money. Run of House rooms at the MGM are NOT the West Wing rooms!!! The West Wing rooms are a LOWER category of room. The Run of House rooms are in the GRAND TOWER and are assigned at check-in from what room categories are available at THAT time. So if you don't care about your view, number of beds, location of the room, etc.
