1 day ago  This year’s QIPCO 2000 Guineas Day at Newmarket and the Derby Day at Epsom Downs will be classified as World Pool events, according to an announcement by a coalition of horse racing leaders. The Hong Kong Jockey Club, UK Tote Group, The Jockey Club and its media rights partner, Racecourse Media Group (RMG), confirmed this morning 8 March that the two meetings will join the five days of. The 1982 Epsom Derby was the 203rd annual running of the Derby horse race. It took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 2 June 1982. The race was won by Robert Sangster 's Golden Fleece, at odds of 3/1 ridden by jockey Pat Eddery and trained at Ballydoyle by Vincent O'Brien. The postponed Epsom Derby and Oaks races, highly anticipated European races for 3-year-olds, may be rescheduled for early July, the Racing Post r. O'Brien equals Epsom Derby record with Anthony Van Dyck's win. With seven entries in Saturday’s Epsom Derby and most of them in contention late, Aiden O’Brien figured to win Europe’s classic.

The 1982 Epsom Derby was the 203rd annual running of the Derbyhorse race. It took place at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 2 June 1982.

The race was won by Robert Sangster's Golden Fleece, at odds of 3/1 ridden by jockey Pat Eddery and trained at Ballydoyle by Vincent O'Brien. Golden Fleece's win was the sixth in the race for O'Brien and the second for Eddery. The winning time of 2:34.27 was the fastest since Mahmoud's hand-timed 2:33.8 in 1936.
